All Makes Servicing & Repairs

Blue Light & NHS discounts. Please ask for details.

Everyone who uses a vehicle on the road must keep it in a roadworthy condition. The MOT checks that it meets a minimum road safety and environmental standard, and the first one is due when the vehicle is three years old.
We can test your car up to one month before your current certificate expires, as long as you bring that certificate with you on the day. Diesels tested. Catalysts tested.
What the tester checks
It's the little details that can make the difference between a pass and a fail.
Inside first
Tackle your car from the inside out. Make sure there's no play in the driver's controls: the steering wheel and column, the handbrake and the footbrake.
Windscreen
Make sure there aren't any large chips or cracks on the windscreen, so your vision is clear.
Seatbelts
Look for damage on the buckles, and if you own a dog, check it hasn't chewed through the belts themselves.
The bounce test
Once outside, give the car a bounce to test the shock absorbers. Anything other than a firm response could spell trouble.
Tyres
Tyres inflated to the right pressure, the tyre shape true, and the tread no lower than 1.6mm.
Lights
No cracked or damaged casings, and every light working, including indicators, fog lights and number plate lights.
Number plate
An easy one to forget: the spacing between each character should be right and the plate securely fastened.
Servicing
Getting a regular car service keeps your car safe, not just for you but for other road users too. Running at its best, it's more fuel efficient, lasts longer and can prove much cheaper in the long run. We may also be able to book you in much sooner than a main dealer.
Level 1
Special or synthetic oils are charged on top.
Level 2
Every 6,000 miles or 6 months
Halfway between full services, by miles or months.
Level 3
Every 12,000 miles or 12 months
Service light reset where applicable.
We encourage our customers to check what is covered by our service schedule and compare it with their main dealer, to see if they're getting the same level of service.
OE-standard parts
All parts we use are made to Original Equipment standard, so they won't invalidate your warranty.
Still under warranty?
If your vehicle is still within the manufacturer's warranty period, please check that the service you choose meets the manufacturer's service schedule.
Your choice, your timing
If a service turns up something that will need doing, we tell you when. It's then up to you: straight away, or at a time that suits you better.

Car & Light Commercial
We give commercial vehicles the same high quality service as cars, and we specialise in Injector Removal. A van off the road can heavily impact a business, so we work extremely hard to fix any issue as quickly as possible.
We work on all commercial vehicles up to and including Class 7.

Our story
In February 2012 the Vauxhall dealership Seward Blandford closed its doors. Tony Vincent had been its Service Manager and Dan Hurst its Senior Technician, both well known locally for the standard of their work. So they filled the void themselves, and launched MVS Blandford Ltd in June 2012.
We've inherited, kept and grown our customer base through service excellence, customer feedback and word of mouth, and in our early years we became an approved repairer for the South Western Ambulance Service, a contract only given to garages that meet the emergency services' standard for quality, efficiency and reliability.
We're an RAC Approved Garage and IMI accredited, and customer satisfaction is still the whole point.

“I needed my car checking for a light on dash. Dropped by to see if MVS could book me in. They took car immediately for a scan! Found problem and it's booked in for glow plugs within a week. Fantastic customer service.”
“Have used MVS for nearly ten years now. Never ever had an issue, questioned their prices or made to wait for work to be carried out (fobbed off). Only use MVS and 100% recommended them. Thank you MVS team!!!”
“We’ve lived in Blandford for 6 years now and we’ve been using MVS ever since we got here. We’re certainly found our forever garage. The service the team delivers is second to none and is quality exemplified. An efficient, cost friendly, transparent and kind garage who I throughly recommend to all those in Blandford Forum and surrounding areas.”
